NATURAL COMPAGNON LEATHER
The exclusive compagnon bull leather is produced according to the specifications of a small, northern German tannery that has been family-owned for generations. Only selected German or, in rare cases, southern English bull hides are used. Throughout the entire process, the focus is on preserving the naturalness of this wonderful material. Each hide, and therefore each bag, has an individual porosity and structure that reflects the life of the animal. We do not support absolute uniformity at the price of pure stable husbandry. A species-appropriate and natural life for the animals is at the heart of a beautiful yet natural raw material.

The traditional tanning process, using natural substances such as fermented leaves, waxes and oils, produces not only a tint but also a characteristic known in the leather trade as 'pull-up'. This leather characteristic is permanently preserved and ensures the formation of an unmistakable patina, which is created through the individual use of the bag. This means that the owner has a direct influence on the look, feel and character of their product. Similar to colonial leather club chairs, a compagnon product tells its story and the story of its wearer. Light brown leather emphasizes the pull-up, the patina can be particularly full of character. Dark brown leathers are in the middle range, black leathers show little patina even after years and look like new for a very long time. The choice is yours.

compagnon leather is free from toxic and harmful additives and is therefore harmless to health, even when used intensively. Compagnon does not use any chemicals or harmful additives such as chrome to achieve absolute color stability of the tints. After years of work, compagnon also naturally achieves even shades of the popular leather colors. In addition, compagnon leather is a strictly local, regional product that combines the know-how of small, medium-sized and family-run businesses.
