  • Hasselblad XCD F2.5 90MM II
  • medium telephoto lens
  • perfect for close-up portraits/still lifes
  • creates a beautiful soft bokeh effect
  • f/2.5 large Weighs only 551 g Aperture
  • compact design
  • small and lightweight focus module

The XCD 2.5/90V medium telephoto lens corresponds to a full-frame focal length of 71 mm and is perfect for close-ups of portraits or still lifes. Its focal length combined with a large f/2.5 aperture creates a beautiful soft bokeh effect that emphasizes the subject. When using the XCD 2.5/90V Lens with a small aperture, the central shutter can create Hasselblad's signature 8-point starburst effect in bright light. With its compact optical design, small and lightweight focus module and optimized central shutter, the XCD 2.5/90V weighs only 551 g, making it 11% lighter than the XCD 3.2/90.

PRECISE OPTICS, EXCELLENT IMAGES
Capturing the finest nuances of light and shadow begins with the Lens. Only with excellent resolution and color reproduction can it provide a solid foundation for imaging. A medium format sensor has a large area and a high pixel density, which places high demands on the precision of the Lens. Starting with the selection of high-quality glass, Hasselblad engineers carefully grind each lens to perfect its optical quality and meet the resolution requirements of 100 million pixels.

The XCD 2.5/90V Lens has nine elements in six groups, including an ED glass element and a specially manufactured large-diameter aspherical element. With a well thought-out arrangement, the Lens not only has a compact size, but is also capable of delivering an apochromatic effect for accurate color correction. Combining the XCD 2.5/90V with a Hasselblad mirrorless medium format camera delivers impressive results.

NEW FOCUS MODULE: FAST, LIGHT, PRECISE
The improved focus module uses a linear stepper motor and a lighter, smaller lens group for focusing. These changes eliminate any lag caused by the movement of the lens group and, together with the X2D 100C's PDAF technology, mean that the focus position can be achieved quickly and a precise stop can be achieved. The result is fast, flexible and accurate focusing.

SMALLCENTRAL SHUTTER, BIG HELP
The central shutter is a powerful component in Hasselblad's medium format system. The XCD 2.5/90V Lens is equipped with an improved central shutter with a large aperture. While smaller in size, it retains the same precision performance as its predecessors and is fast and quiet to avoid noise when shooting.

In addition, it shoots at up to 1/4000 sec, making it the fastest among medium format lenses,[1] and delivers flash synchronization at all speeds.

A TRUSTED BUT NEW AESTHETICS
The XCD 2.5/90V is a precision-machined metal lens with a focus ring and a newly added control ring. Both rings are finely engraved with a Hasselblad "H" logo. The design is created with a precise 0.3 mm mill and is a nod to the unforgettable look of the HC/HCD Lens. Whether combined with the X System or 907X cameras, this new lens is both a tribute to the past and a unique, elegant statement.

[1] Among mirrorless digital cameras with an interchangeable lens and a CMOS sensor with a diameter of 55 mm (according to a Hasselblad market survey from March 1, 2022).
