In accordance with §11 PAngV (German ordinance regulating the indication of Prices), the last offer price shows the lowest price of the last 30 days after all usual direct discount deductions. Discounts such as cashback or trade-in, which are calculated or paid out after the purchase or by third parties without a contractual relationship with Hifi Foto Koch GmbH (service providers, agencies, manufacturers, etc.) or which require further action, are not included.
Filmmakers are now able to reduce most of the 4k video crop factor from EOS R (1.75x) and EOS RP (1.63x) to 1.24x and 1.15x respectively. The field of view is now much closer to still image mode. This speed booster is not intended for still images, but works when the camera is configured in APS-C mode.
Compatible with
- Canon RF camera series: EOS R and EOS RP
- Canon EF-mount lenses
- Canon EF-Extender (teleconverter)
- Carl Zeiss EF-mount lenses2
- Sigma EF-mount lenses2
- Tamron EF-mount lenses2
- Tokina EF-mount lenses2
- Contax N-mount lenses modified to Canon EF by Conurus
- Contax 645 NAM-1 adapter modified to Canon EF by Conurus
Not supported
- Canon EF-S lenses12
- APS-C lenses2
- Lens correction such as peripheral shading, CA and distortion
- Focus confirmation "chip" (e.g. Dandelion)
- M42 screw adapter4
- Attachment of additional non-Metabones/non-Conurus adapters (see footnote 5 and list of lenses below that need to be modified)
Footnotes
1 EF-S Lens do not fit on the Speed Booster. Some EF-S Lens can be modified to fit, but do so at your own risk.
2 EF-S lenses and third party Lens designed for APS-C format will NOT ALL work when used in conjunction with Speed Booster as image coverage will be limited.
3 When used with fast Lens (faster than f/1.4), the pre-booster apertures are displayed in the camera.
Slower Lens will report increased aperture values to the camera body, while faster Lens will report pre-boosts. Instead of f/0.9 with a f/1.2 Lens attached, f/1.2 is displayed
Example:
(a) EF 85/1.2L attached, camera display = f/1.2, physical aperture (Lens + Speed Booster combined) = f/0.85.
b) Sigma 35/1.4 connected, camera display = f/1.0, physical aperture (Lens + Speed Booster combined) = f/1.0
4 Some improperly manufactured M42 screw adapters can short-circuit the electronic contacts of the Speed Booster and cause damage to the Speed Booster and/or the camera.
5 Many manual focus Lens (e.g. OM 28/2.8, OM 50/1.8, Leica R 15/3.5) have rear protruding parts (pins, levers, other attachments) that would damage the optics and/or the Speed Booster's Body. They must be modified before they can be safely used with the Speed Booster. Scratches and damage caused by these rear protruding parts on the Speed Booster or poor quality adapters are not covered by the warranty.
NOTE
To update the firmware of a Canon EF Lens downloaded from the Canon website, use Canon's own adapter. Although a Metabones Speed Booster has been tested for this application scenario, it is not guaranteed to work and is not supported.
