In order to make productions in broadcast efficient, the talent has to recite the texts in front of the camera without much training time. Accomplishing this task without major pauses or stalls is very difficult. A teleprompter provides the speaker with the text for the current scene. The speed of the text can be adjusted here to match the speaker's pace of speech.
How teleprompters work
The camera is placed directly behind the screen / one-way mirror of the device on which the words are recorded. Due to an angle of 45?, the text is thus not visible on the video and the person in front of the camera looks directly into the camera while reading
